4 8- to 12-ounce steaks, such as filet, ribeye, or New York Strip
½ teaspoon salt
¼ teaspoon pepper
Preheat oven to 375ºF.
Mix Garlic Butter seasoning into butter. Season steaks on both sides with salt and pepper.
Heat a large oven-proof skillet over high heat. When hot, add steaks in a single even layer and cook until deep brown on one side, about 5-6 minutes. Flip and continue cooking until deep brown on the other side, an additional 5-6 minutes.
Take temperature in the thickest part of each steak. Internal temperatures for each level of doneness are:
130ºF medium rare
135 ºF medium
140ºF medium well
145ºF well done
If steak is undercooked for your preference, transfer pan to oven to finish cooking, checking internal temperature of steak every 3-4 minutes.
Remove steaks from pan and let rest 5 minutes. Top each steak with 1 Tablespoon garlic butter and serve.
